Constitution Hill, in partnership with AFROSPECTIVES: A Global Africa Initiative, is proud to host a compelling panel discussion on “The Challenges of Revalorizing and Operationalising Endogenous Systems of Governance and Justice”, taking place on 28 July 2025, from 15:00 to 18:00 at Constitution Hill.
This timely gathering will spotlight efforts across the continent and the diaspora to revive and operationalize Africa’s endogenous systems of governance—rich, diverse frameworks rooted in communal values, consensus-building, and restorative justice. As the world confronts deep governance crises, African thinkers and practitioners are engaged in vital conversation about homegrown alternatives drawn from Africa’s own paradigms and historical experiences.
The event features the launch of AFROSPECTIVES’ groundbreaking new publication, “Beyond Mimicry: The Potential of African Endogenous Governance Systems”, and will convene leading African scholars, policymakers, activists, and students to:
- Share African experiences in reviving endogenous systems of governance and justice
- Explore the potential of African perspectives to inspire socio-political alternatives.
Programme Highlights:
- Book Launch Presentation moderated by Prof. Lisa Aubrey (Arizona State University)
- Panel Discussion featuring voices from Botswana, South Africa, Djibouti, and Ethiopia
- Audience Exchange & Reflections
This is an opportunity to engage in critical, future-oriented dialogue rooted in Africa’s rich cultural and political heritage.
