The IN THE GARDEN event is a live music performance showcase for upcoming musicians. This platform was originally created by MANY MORE CULTURE to spotlight unearthed musical talent and to build a community of thriving upcoming creatives. The event serves as a social gathering, where the digital communities of MANY MORE CULTURE and Soundbar ZA get to interact in person, to encourage networking and collaboration. It also serves to feed the need for platforms that spotlight genres outside Amapiano and Hip hop/Trap in South Africa.

The IN THE GARDEN SERIES was born out of the vintage South African principles of “Ubuntu”, a collective of creatives and musicians bringing together their resources to create an enjoyable experience, not governed by social popularity or fame.

The objective is to build a community of thriving independent artists that lack platforms to showcase their musical talent. To bring awareness to the Transwerke Creative Uprising Hub and establish its presence on the creative community map of Johannesburg. Their long-term goal is to generate revenue from these events to pay performers, manage event costs and improve the overall experience of our events.

The mood and sonic themes for these events are laid-back sounds, catering to genres such as:

- Afro-Soul/Afro-R&B

- Alternative

- Conscious Rap & Funk

SoundBar is an entity that revolves around the upcoming music scene, from hosting workshops to curating events. Based at Transwerke Studio’s (Studio 1), Constitution Hill in Braamfontein. Soundbar has its own live music platform, LIVE ON SOUNDCAFÉ, a show that features live recordings of upcoming artists performing on an exclusive set designs by Soundbar ZA. Inspired by COLORS & NPR: Tiny Desk. Soundbar ZA also offers sound equipment hire.

MANY MORE CULTURE was founded in July 2023, it is a blog, music and events curation entity. They cover specifically the upcoming community by writing articles on the their latest releases, sharing their stories on their Youtube series THE HEART OF THE ART, curating monthly playlists MANY MORE SOUNDS, CLOUD SURFING and hosting their own events e.g IN THE GARDEN SERIES.
