The Basha Uhuru Festival has been recognised as one of the top festivals in Mzansi. Annually - Constitution Hill, commemorates the youth of ’76,
through the annual Basha Uhuru Festival. June 16, 1976 – is a day that is synonymous with South Africa’s struggle against apartheid. It is the day that symbolises the rising of our nation’s youth against oppression. It is the day that changed the course of our country’s history. It is the day that our country’s youth claimed their rightful place in our country’s narrative.
The event brings the hottest art, music, film, design, dance, theatre and poetry to one of Johannesburg’s most iconic landmarks. It is the culmination of year long activities and initiatives the live at Conhill as part of the Creative Uprising Hub.

In preparation of the 20th anniversary of South Africa's Constitution, which was signed into law on 10 December 1996, Constitution Hill hosted #Constitution20, a dialogue and exhibition launch at the Constitutional Court, on the evening of Thursday, 8 December.

FANS OF TV presenter, radio host and musician Zola will get their chance to see him perform live at the annual Basha Uhuru Freedom Fest.
Thandiswa Mazwai, who has had a busy month with the Igoda music circuit festivals will also be performing at the festival. The five-day event aims to commemorate the spirit of the students of 1976.
